People who don't have dogs at home:
I interviewed different people in the family to see who influences the decision and who has to follow it. In a family there is a father, a mother and children and sometimes even grandparents.
Thus, I interviewed few fathers, few mothers and also children. Also, during each interview I asked them about their family members.
I discovered that most fathers either do not care or don't like dogs for they find them dirty and full of germs.
Mothers are scared that the entire burden of care will come onto them even though being women they have a soft corner and want to do something for their welfare.
Most children want to keep dogs but due to prejudices or family problems they are not allowed to. Some people, the whole family absolutely hates dogs and have their strong disliking is difficult to tackle thus, I would want to target the women as they have take care of the dogs either through their children or directly.
Through my literature review I have found that most of common worries that people have can be easily tackled with proper training and vaccination in the first few months. For instance, People have worries about excessive barking or biting or diseases or toilet training which is not very difficult if work is divided for the first few months. After that the dogs can be given regular food at home baring a few and walks. Other than that the dog only give love and care to their master. Also, some people have assumptions about infections spread from dogs which aren't correct so that can be tackled to. People who say we don't like animals or don't care about them will not be looked it by me at this stage.
